The matters which The Japan Prize Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the "Foundation") is obliged to publicly announce pursuant to the Personal Information Protection Law are as described below. Please review them.

The personal information acquired by the Foundation shall be used within the scope of purposes related to the Foundation’s following activities.
(1) Activities for awarding prizes
(A) Issuing of written requests for recommendations of prize candidates, and related activities
(B) Investigating the accomplishments of prize candidates
(C) Preparing materials related to the screening and selection of prize candidates
(D) Distributing Foundation publications for reporting on screening and selection results, etc.
(Japan Prize News, Japan Prize Report, Foundation pamphlets, DVDs, etc.)
(E) Sending invitations and other activities for Japan Prize presentation ceremonies and related events; disclosing of information to attendees
(2) Activities for promoting research in, and public awareness of, science and technology
(A) Activities related to planning and conducting lecture meetings, social gatherings, seminars, etc.
(B) Sending invitations and notifications related to the abovementioned events, and other related activities; disclosing of information to attendees
(C) Sending and submitting application forms related to cultivating and training human resources, and exchanges; preparing materials, etc., related to screening and selection activities; providing notification of screening and selection results
(D) Sending invitations for Japan Prize presentation ceremonies and related events; disclosing of information to attendees
(E) Distributing the Foundation’s publications and related activities
(3) Subsidization activities
(A) Activities related to sending application forms and managing applications
(B) Preparing materials, etc., related to screening and selection activities
(C) Sending invitations for presentation ceremonies and related events, and other related activities; disclosing of information to attendees
(D) Providing notification of screening and selection results; sending reports on achievements from subsidized activities
(E) Distributing the Foundation’s publications and related activities
(F) Sending invitations for Japan Prize presentation ceremonies and related events; disclosing of information to attendees
(4) Other activities
(A) Public relations, making payments, and other activities that occur in conjunction with conducting the activities described in the other donation activities
